Girl2Girl - 2016 Amount Funded: $1,500.00
Girl-2-Girl is a high school after-school program for girls. Our purpose is to encourage the development of strength, confidence, honesty and service by creating a close-knit community. Girls can discover and celebrate their true selves and authentic purpose. The unique aspect of Girl-2-Girl lies in the weekly relationship that builds over a period of 4 years. Mentors encourage self-esteem in dialog and trust. Through collaborative problem solving and discussing behavior consequences, we model and create positive, healthy relationships. Many for the first time, learn healthy lifestyle choices, and enjoy bi-weekly cooking nights. Eyes of Hope believes this program benefits the whole community by providing our young women a place to explore new ideas, build positive relationships with adults and opportunities to serve. Girl-2-Girl is a safe space for young adult women to grow,
Girl-2-Girl is a program offered by Eyes of Hope Stoughton, Inc. that provides after school activities for at-risk high school girls by three volunteer mentors with an average of 12 participants. We meet weekly to discuss self-esteem, well-being, goals, healthy relationships and more. Each individual can safely share what happens in school, at home and in interpersonal relationships. Our programming starts with a healthy snack and "highs and lows". Students talk about life challenges and positive experiences through group problem solving, mentoring, support, and encouragement. We complete our time together with healthy cooking, a craft, or field trip.
